What to Expect from the Course
Our 6-week course is for those who are just starting out in the world of teaching Pilates classes. It’s designed to provide you with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills, ensuring you're well-prepared to begin teaching Pilates Matwork as soon as you qualify.
What Does the Diploma Cover?
The course blends face-to-face instruction with convenient online units. The face-to-face sessions occur every two weeks, allowing you ample time to practice your Pilates techniques and complete assignments.
Unit 1: Anatomy & Physiology for Exercise and Health
This online unit provides a solid foundation in understanding the human body's intricacies, which is crucial for effective Pilates instruction. You'll have plenty of opportunities for additional teaching time, and it concludes with an online open book exam.
Unit 2: Supporting Clients to Take Part in Exercise and Physical Activity
This classroom unit explores building relationships with your clients, ensuring both you and your clients benefit the most from Pilates classes.
Unit 3: Health, Safety, and Welfare in a Fitness Environment
In this classroom unit, you'll learn to identify health and safety risks within a fitness environment, ensuring a secure Pilates experience for your clients.
Unit 4: Principles of Exercise, Fitness, and Health
This online unit lays the foundation for understanding the principles of exercise, fitness, and health. It's essential knowledge for all Pilates instructors and concludes with an online open book exam.
Unit 5: Principles of Pilates Matwork
Gain an in-depth understanding of the origins, methodology, and phases of a Pilates Matwork class.
Unit 6: Planning Pilates Matwork Classes
Learn how to gather information from clients and tailor Pilates classes to their specific needs.
Unit 7: Instructing Pilates Matwork Classes
This unit equips you with the skills necessary to deliver effective Pilates Matwork sessions.
Assessment
You will be assessed through a combination of coursework, a portfolio of evidence, practical demonstrations, assignments, and multiple-choice examinations.
The online components can be completed at your own pace, with the option to attend live online sessions or watch recorded versions at your convenience. All course elements must be completed by your practical Pilates assessment day.

Nicci Rowlands
Nicci Rowlands - Master Trainer & Lead Tutor
Following a back injury, the Director of PilatEASE Training Academy Nicci Rowlands, ended up with a bulging disc, sciatica along with hip, leg and knee pain. This led Nicci down the path of specialising in Pilates for therapy and wellness. Qualifying as a Pilates Reformer Trainer changed Nicci’s whole way of training. Back Care Pilates and Pilates for Wellness are her absolute passion. After realising there was a regional shortage of UK accredited Pilates Teachers Nicci embarked on the journey of becoming an Active IQ Training Centre to deliver the ONLY accredited training in Pilates - the Level 3 Diploma in Pilates Matwork. She went on to write her own endorsed CPD course in Reformer Pilates. Her passion to have the most confident Pilates Teachers graduating from the PilatEASE Training Academy and learning for life with all the continuous professional development, workshops and discussion groups available to all her students.
